For thiis project I went with two analogous color schemes, playing around with different filters and layer styles. I then mixed up the color pallet with more primary colors, again trying out different layer styles.
The video for this project went into the description of celtic knots. I am of Scottish heritage myself and have always thought the patterns were so amazing especially for a people who had an oral tradition and most of their messages were sent through their own form of semiotics.
I really enjoyed this project as it gave me a better understanding of how shapes can be formed into more complex patterns. I have created patterns in Photoshop in the past and this was a reminder of how it's important to keep them bound to their own spaces as close as possible.
Once again I find myself surprised at how a simple letter can turn into an interesting design. In this case I started with an S and before I realized it I had created a wonderful pinwheel design.
