Project 6 Positive/Negative Space

I chose a curved line for the first two examples. The second reminds me of the yin-yang symbol, a common one used to represent balance and symmetry. The third I used a common circle since it's it one that we cannot help but complete with our brains whenever we see it.

The next two yielded interesting results. I actually thought at first that I may have accidentally turned the images, but I quickly realized that the perceived slanting was just an optical illusion.

The final design actually makes the circle no more than part of a pattern. It stops being the "postive space" and becomes more like a simple texture.

  1. The optical illusion of tilting is quite strong... interesting!
